beautiful things

February 11, 2016 10 Comments

two astride, as the trail is wide
at the narrow, we divide
I fall behind, you think it kind
walking ahead, to scent a flower you find
rustling within shadow’s gloom
as you enjoyed June’s full bloom
hungry eyes, consumed of fiery glow
though, in your purity, you didn’t know
there were things back there
of which you’d been unaware
I’ll do battle with the leathery wings
while you enjoy the beautiful things

That’s beautiful; it is. A gorgeous expression of how love for another really can be. Thank you.

And it rhymes! lol. I’ not a big fan of rhyming poems, but I’ve written a few, and they can still say more than what has been visibly said. Thank you, Mils.

This is exquisite, ?Eric! The hearts appeared on their own, so I just went with it…

Oh? I’ll have to figure out the heart trick.. could be useful on days when I’m feeling heartless 😉 Thank you for the kind comment, Tiffany 🙂

I like this side of you, too! Still has the shadowed drama so familiar in your work, but the rhyming meter makes it wistful, whimsical and romantic…

Overall, I think I will go with “enchanting” as my word of choice here…

    Nicely done, Eric! 🙂
